ARTIST'S STATEMENT

I seek to use imaging as a tool to examine the world and to express myself for as long as possible, as intensively as possible, and as reverently as possible.

It has been the greatest of pleasures to have had the opportunity to work with and express myself through the visual arts over the past 30 years. Image making has been, and continues to be my passion. The practice of art making is wonderfully organic, and unpredictable.

Most of my projects are long term in nature and often address issues of time. I collect images and search for patterns and themes that emerge from the corpus of the work. Although I will often give myself "goals", in many cases the end result could not have been anticipated at the project's inception. The closure of one investigation often serves as the catalyst for the next.
